The jury of the second edition of the Nino Rota International Piano Competition in Brindisi.

On Sunday, April 28, 2024, in the Nuovo Teatro Verdi of Brindisi, the Gala Evening was held with the performance and awarding of the winners of the second edition of the Nino Rota Competition organized by the Rotary Club Brindisi Valesio, chaired by the Lawyer Vittorio Piceci for the Rotary year 2023-2024; on the stage from the left in order the jury members: Anna Ferrer, (Spain), Pasquale Iannone (Italy), Antonio Salvemini (Italy), President Hubert Stuppner (Italy), Robert Andres (Croatia/Portugal), Bartolomeo Zurakowski (Poland), Silvana Libardo (Italy). On the right, in the role of Club Prefect, the President of the Rotary Club Brindisi Valesio.

Category A: First Prize with 95/100 to the very young contestant Yuki Chen, from China, aged 6 and a half; she wins: diploma, commemorative medal and a scholarship of €400; the prize is presented by the President of the Rotary Club Brindisi Valesio, the Lawyer Vittorio Piceci.

Category B: First Prize with 96/100 to Sveva Di Francesco, aged 10, from Monteroni di Lecce; she wins: diploma, commemorative medal and a €500 scholarship.

Category C: First Prize with 96/100 to Guglielmo Larato, aged 14, from Matera; he wins: diploma and commemorative medal.

Category C: First Absolute Prize with 98/100 to Viola Verrico, aged 14, from Gioia del Colle; she wins: diploma, commemorative medal and a €700 scholarship.

Category E: First Prize with 96/100 to Eloiz Sinani, aged 18, from Lecce; she wins: diploma, commemorative medal and a €1.300 scholarship.

Category F: First Prize with 97/100 cum laude, Giulia Falzarano, aged 18, from Benevento; she wins: diploma, commemorative medal and a €1.000 scholarship.

Category F: First Absolute Prize with 98/100 to Greta Lobefaro, aged 23, from Gioia del Colle; she wins: diploma, commemorative medal and a €1.600 scholarship.

 

Category G: First Prize with 97/100 to Roberto Di Napoli, aged 25, from Foggia; he wins diploma and commemorative medal.

Category G: First Absolute Prize with 99/100 to Camilla Chiga, aged 23, from Brindisi; she is also the Absolute Winner of the entire Nino Rota Competition; she wins: diploma, commemorative medal and a €1.900 scholarship.

The “Musica D’Arte” Association of Preganziol (Treviso, Italy), offered her to give a piano recital on 17 May 2024. The award was presented by the Mayor of the city of Brindisi, Dr. Giuseppe Marchionna.

Category H ‘Mozart Prize’: the 18-year-old pianist GIULIA FALZARANO from Benevento was proclaimed the winner. She performed Mozart’s Concerto K415, accompanied by the orchestra of the Nino Rota Competition, conducted by Maestro Bartolomeo Zurakovsky; she wins: diploma, commemorative medal and a €2.600 scholarship.

In addition, the Conductor, Bartolomeo Zurakowski, invited her to perform with the orchestra as part of his ‘Belle Voci’ Festival in Poland.

The prize is presented by the Governor Emeritus of Rotary International District 2120 and Honorary President of the Competition, Sergio Sernia.
